Week 37 Maternity Leave At Last

Four weeks before my due date, I started my maternity leave. It was a time of relaxation and getting ready for baby. Still very difficult to move around, eCommerce was my new best friend. They weren't kidding when they said the "nesting" instinct kicks in right around now.

Check out the nursery... (the little green guy is Brobee)

Week 36 - Turn Baby Turn

Baby was breech (head up butt down) and stayed breech since week 30. The doctor had advised me to do certain exercises to get the baby to turn, or else... she was going to send me to a koo koo chiropractor (my obgyn described him with those words) who will somehow manipulate my belly and get the baby to turn. That was a scary thought so I religiously did these "exercises'.

This is how I positioned myself for about 30 mins each day...

On the night before my next check up, I felt lots of movement... flutters and bubbles and squirming. And 8am the next day, the doctor confirmed baby has turned! Yay!!! Good girl!

We were so blessed to have such wonder friends and family. Sandy, Nami, and Michelle put together a wonderful baby shower for us filled with games and yummy food.

We've decided on a name for our little one... Olivia. Olivia and I had a wonderful time!

Week 31 - 35 Third Trimester Growth

Woohoo! The third trimester. Good bye to the comfortable second trimester. Everyday, it got harder to move around and my belly got bigger and bigger. Shortness of breath and lack of room near the rib cage was a constant battle. But the baby movements was all worth it. I could feel the baby move everytime I had something sweet like juice. At work, a daily dose of apple juice made me and baby happy. I am also counting down to maternity leave which starts at week 37.

Woo and I went to childbirth class during week 31. It was eye opening for Woo. He thought we were going to be wrapping some dolls like a burrito. Five birthing videos and three different breathing exercises later, he was ready. I just hope we remember it all when that day comes.
